Yet, as JoJo pointed out during our talk this week, that tiny object is essentially an entire forest waiting to happen. It doesn't look like much now, but locked inside is the potential for towering trunks, cooling shade, and life-sustaining oxygen.

In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus uses this exact imagery. He calls the Word of God a "seed." This isn't just a poetic metaphor — it's a fundamental truth about how spiritual growth works.

The Power of the "Relentless" Seed

When we look at the sower's work, it sounds almost too simple:

"The sower soweth the word." — Mark 4:14 (KJV)

But as Josiah observed, the work of the sower is the most vital step in the whole process.

• The Seed Needs SoilA seed sitting in a bag is just potential. It only becomes powerful when it's buried in the earth.
• Quiet StrengthA seed doesn't need a sledgehammer to change its environment. It's relentless. Over time, the slow, steady growth of a living seed is strong enough to crack through pavement and move heavy rocks.

Understanding the Stages of Growth

One of the hardest parts of faith is the waiting. We live in a world of instant downloads, but the heart doesn't work that way. Jesus reminds us that growth is a process:

"...first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear." — Mark 4:28 (KJV)

There's often a long season where it looks like absolutely nothing is happening beneath the surface. But just because you can't see the "chemistry" doesn't mean the miracle isn't in motion. Our job isn't to force the growth — our job is simply to be good soil.
